This is Varanasi - City of Gods
A few weeks ago, I flew to Mumbai from where I took a 28 hours long train ride to Varanasi - a sacred Hindu city on the banks of the Ganges.
I was in Varanasi before, a couple of years ago, but this time I focussed more on street photography and I tried to catch some vibe from the city. For this project I mainly used a 24mm lens, which is a wide angle lens. Hence I had to get real close to the people, to get some decent shots. That was a great experience for me, as I always had to get out of my comfort zone. I was basically forced to get right in front of the people and to interact with them. But it's totally worth I think. Some years ago, I used a 200mm lens where I could stand on the opposite side of the street to take a portrait... but it's not the same, you know. You are not a part of the moment and that sucks.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did as I took them.
