I got a request from a magazine to shoot a series about a gyrocopter pilot. Documentary work is what I love most, really. This is the ultimate freedom for any photographer - no guidelines, no fake, real moments as they happen.

So I met with pilot Michael Hoinkis one morning and accompanied him for a while. As you can see, a gyrocopter is similar to a helicopter. Well, same same but different :) For instance, a gyrocopter can not go straight up in the air. It needs speed like a plane.

Attached are some shots from the series. Unfortunately it was a very clouded day. But it is what it is.
